AED - UAE Dirham

UAE Dirham is the currency used in the UAE which is monitored by the Central Bank of the UAE. Dirham is a word derived from Arabic. The first dirham coin was launched on 19 May 1973 replacing Dubai and Qatar. The available denominations in UAE are 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000. Dh 1 is available in metal coin, whereas the other denominations are available in paper currency. The currency has Arabic text and numbers in Eastern Arabic Numerals along with English text on the other side.
