Check basic requirements

Go for Vehicle Inspection Check

There are many vehicle inspection centres in Abu Dhabi which do the inspection and also provide the inspection certificate. Inspection companies such as Auto Central, ADNOC distribution, Fix plus and some other companies do the car inspection. 

The certification issued by the inspection vehicle company is valid for thirty days from the date of issue. The renewal should be done within this period of time. Due to the pandemic, the vehicle requirements had been waived off for a certain period of time and since situations have changed over a period of time vehicle inspection is a requirement for getting the registration and the renewal. 

Submit required documentation/information

The car owners should submit all the documents through the online mode. The documents required for the car registration include Emirates identification card, driver's license, car insurance and old registration card. After all the registration work is done you have to select the home delivery option so that the car registration card is sent by the authorities directly to your home address. The charges for delivery of a car is between AED 12 to AED 15. 

The car registration should be done every year and the way for renewal in Abu Dhabi is simple and clear. The authorities will check if the car has insurance or not, the insurance is valid for 12 months. It is also important to check and clear all the penalties, black points or fines. The authorities provide a facility to clear the fines at the registration centers. 

There is a facility of thirty days grace period after the registration expires. This grace period is given to make sure car maintenance work is completely done. Once the grace period of insurance is over it is illegal to drive a car in the UAE. There are huge penalties for driving the car and there are 4 black points and the car will be taken into custody for 7 days.
